Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have been mentioned in connection with this transfer. There was talk of an extension being practically a done deal. However, the suspense has resurfaced, particularly following comments made by Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Max Eberl, at a press conference.
“We said we were waiting for Upamecano’s response; that’s the only one that matters. And that’s what we’re waiting for, nothing new.”
This statement, which certainly dampens the rumors of an agreement, is compounded by new indications from the German media, suggesting frustration on the part of Bayern Munich. The club believes it has already made a significant financial effort with its offer and has no intention of improving it. Not to mention the attractive sporting aspects of the deal. Therefore, doubt has once again crept into the defender’s future.
