Ilya Zabarnyi, the 22-year-old central defender from Bournemouth (contract runs until 2028) and Ukraine, has been announced as a defensive priority for Paris Saint-Germain this mercato. There is even talk of some progress towards a transfer to PSG. Yesterday, journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that the deal was close to being finalized. The Ukrainian “liked” this publication on social networks.
It’s not an official transfer announcement, but it’s still something to take seriously. Players, or possibly someone who manages social networks for them, don’t act randomly. Zabarnyi’s little gesture confirms his desire to come.
It’s not enough to say that PSG will be able to complete the transfer, as an agreement must be reached with Bournemouth. But it’s very likely that Paris will be able to settle the final details. Especially if the player’s wishes are so clear. He has probably received a guarantee, or almost, from the Parisian club.
