Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, SSC Napoli’s 23-year-old striker under contract until 2027, was the target of a concrete offer from Paris Saint-Germain during the 2024 summer mercato, but his club didn’t open the door despite pressure from his entourage. PSG came back this winter, and this time the Neapolitan club opened up to the Georgian’s desire to leave. L’Equipe reported this Saturday that the transfer, which is very close, could be completed for less than the 80 million euros recently quoted.
Kvaratskhelia ready to sign for PSG.
“PSG’s interest has never wavered in recent months. And contact between the sporting directorate and the player’s representatives has been regular ever since.
A contractual agreement – valued at between €7 and €7.5 million net per annum – was reached last summer. It still exists. The player is keen to join the capital club. And unlike last summer, his club’s position.
Transfer next week ?
The Georgian’s arrival at PSG was seen as being well on the way, both by the club’s entourage and by certain influential players in the market. In fact, very well.
The deal, brokered by Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes, could be finalized for between €65m and €70m. Some sources even suggested that an agreement in principle was imminent, and that Kvaratskhelia’s arrival at PSG early next week was possible.”
All in all, it seems quite clear that PSG are close to recruiting Kvaratskhelia. Napoli have not randomly confirmed their desire to leave. But beware, it’s not all over yet either. There are competitors and the Neapolitan management has already shown that it can be very firm in a negotiation.
But the mood is optimistic, even if we’re still waiting for an official announcement to celebrate. Here, we’re especially wary of the price we’ve heard. It’s possible, but far from fixed. Above all, it’s different from the average for other media. But that doesn’t make it wrong.
