Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, SSC Napoli’s 23-year-old striker under contract until 2027, was the target of a concrete offer from Paris Saint-Germain during the 2024 summer mercato, but his club didn’t open the door despite pressure from his entourage. PSG came back this winter, and this time the Neapolitan club opened up to the Georgian’s desire to leave. Journalist Ben Jacobs now confirms that the transfer should be settled next week.
“Kvaratskhelia should therefore be transferred next week.”
“Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has reached an agreement with PSG until the summer of 2029. Kvaratskhelia had told PSG of his desire to join the club last summer and again this month.
PSG and Napoli are in talks to try and reach an agreement. An agreement could come quickly, as Napoli also believe that a January exit is in the interests of all parties.
Napoli would certainly like another suitor, but to date no formal offer has been received from Premier League clubs. Kvaratskhelia should therefore be transferred next week.”
There’s no certainty until a transfer is officially announced, but Kvaratskhelia’s arrival now looks very much on course. It would take a huge surprise for it to be otherwise, as everything is shaping up around a deal worth around 80 million euros.
Let’s wait and see whether this is confirmed, and whether it will be as swift as has been announced in recent hours. It would be excellent news for PSG and a great new step for the Georgian.
