Gianluigi Donnarumma, the 25-year-old goalkeeper who arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 with a contract running until 2026 (following the end of his own at AC Milan), is regularly called into question by fans and observers alike. Even so, an extension is under discussion, but it’s proving rather difficult. His agent has even spoken of a “stand-by” situation. Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio now claims that a major Serie A club is on the lookout.
« L’Inter surveille de près Gianluigi Donnarumma : si le gardien italien ne renouvelle pas son contrat, il pourrait devenir une possibilité concrète pour le prochain marché. »
Mind you, there’s nothing concrete yet, and Donnarumma could also end up extending his contract at PSG. But we suspect that several clubs are keeping a close eye on this situation, as the usually titular goalkeeper seems to be in doubt about his future.
The market is often very closed in this position, and an open door for a departure would inevitably attract offers. But Paris would need to pay an attractive price and find a suitable replacement (could Matvey Safonov take on the number 1 role?).
There are still a lot of uncertainties in this dossier, so let’s wait for the certainties. But we wouldn’t be surprised if Inter Milan were among the clubs paying close attention. Even if a signature would definitively damage Donnarumma’s image at his formative club, AC Milan, where his free transfer to PSG is still not digested.
