Lucas Beraldo, 20-year-old defender, spoke to Globo. He talked about his situation, his limited playing time, his progress and said he was ready to help the team when coach Luis Enrique needed him. A speech full of humility.
Beraldo “I can feel my progress
“Last season, I arrived and started playing straight away. This season, I’ve played a little less, but I’m continuing to work in the same way. It’s the coach’s choice, and he knows he can always count on me, whatever my position: left-back or defender. I’m here to give it my all. I may not have played much in the last few games, but I can feel my progress.
Beraldo “I’m dedicated to the team and I put a lot of effort into training”.
I’m dedicated to the team and I’m working hard in training to get back to playing more. I don’t put pressure on anyone. I think I’m doing my job in the right way, and I’m here every day happy and smiling. I’m very grateful to be able to wear the PSG jersey and always ready to help the club in any situation.”
Beraldo is often criticized, but he has the right mentality. He’s a player with great potential, but his performances have caused him to slip down the pecking order. He needs to do more to get back on the pitch, and defensively he’s very limited. Moreover, Luis Enrique is in no hurry with him, expecting progress, and Beraldo seems to be a serious and diligent player. Maybe he’ll go out on loan or get some game time, but one thing’s for sure: he’ll “accept” his fate without a second thought, even if he’d probably prefer to play more.
