Marco Asensio, Paris Saint-Germain’s 28-year-old midfielder/attacker under contract until 2026, has been struggling of late and has been rather sidelined by coach Luis Enrique. So the idea of a mercato departure is taking hold. RMC Sport claims he is heading for a loan move to the Premier League, but Cher Ndour (20-year-old midfielder on loan at Besiktas) needs to be sold.
“Negotiations continue between Aston Villa and Paris Saint-Germain for Marco Asensio. The English would like to take the player on loan.
This would require Cher Ndour to be transferred to Fiorentina. There is an agreement in principle between Ndour and Fiorentina, and the two clubs are close to a deal.
We remain cautious, as nothing has been done yet. We’re still cautious, there’s nothing done yet, nor the slightest confirmation, except that we’ve noticed that Ndour is no longer called up to play for Besiktas, even though he had some game time. So we can only hope that an agreement will be reached before the end of the mercato.
However, this is not a foregone conclusion, and the destination is far from certain. As for Asensio, the rumour is finally taking shape. But it’s not yet concrete. We’ll have to wait and see. Not for long, as the winter mercato closes in the next few days all over the world. Let’s hope PSG can close these deals.
