Having arrived in 2021 from Sporting Portugal, Nuno Mendes has quickly shown that he has great qualities. Unsurprisingly, Paris Saint-Germain wanted to secure the future of the 22-year-old left-back by extending his contract, which expires in 2026. After a minor stalemate, agreement has finally been reached. RMC Sport and L’Equipe confirm earlier reports from Abdellah Boulma and Fabrizio Romano.
“Nuno Mendes has extended his contract at PSG as Fabrizio Romano explains 5-year deal”
“Nuno Mendes has signed a new contract with PSG until 2030 as announced by Fabrizio Romano. The Portuguese is to be presented to the public tonight in a 2030 jersey.”
There’s really no doubt anymore, with so many journalists agreeing in such a short space of time. It’s extremely rare for it to be for nothing. Even so, there’s always a certain amount of caution to be exercised until an official announcement is made, given how surprising soccer can be.
The good news is that this should be settled by this evening. We’ll be ready to rejoice, with PSG having pulled off a very nice coup by “securing” a very talented player, still young, attached to Paris and in a position where great players are rather rare. Let’s hope there won’t be any unpleasant surprises.
