On Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain played host to rivals Olympique de Marseille in the closing match of the 26th day of Ligue 1 (3-1 video highlights PSG/OM). In the mixed zone, 19-year-old Parisian midfielder Désiré Doué stopped to answer journalists’ questions, as reported by L’Equipe.
Doué “We were effective and that’s the most important thing.”
“Marseille played very well. They played with intensity. Then here we are, we have rhythm in every game and we were able to keep that intensity right to the end. We were also able to score a third goal. As I say, we were effective and that’s the most important thing.”
It’s also a demonstration of PSG’s strength, it shows that you’re confident and that it’s going to last?
“It’s all thanks to the coach. We just have to keep listening to what he tells us to do and everything will be fine.”
Do you have a preference for the wings or midfield?
“No, it doesn’t matter. As long as I’m on the pitch I’m happy.”
Doué “They’re all very nice events, so I’m happy.”
How did you find out about your selection for the French national team?
“I found out during the press conference, like you and I was very happy. I hadn’t been called up before. My entourage knew a little bit, but they didn’t say anything so I could find out.”
Could you have dreamed of a better week?
“It’s hard to imagine. It’s all come together and they’re just really nice events so I’m happy.”
