Willian Pacho, Paris Saint-Germain’s 23-year-old defender, stopped by the mixed zone after the 4-0 victory over Inter Miami (PSG/Inter Miami highlights) this Sunday at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the Round of 16 of the 2025 Club World Cup.
Pacho “We’re a team that wants to win, make history”.
“We’re a team that wants to win, write history and achieve great things. We controlled the ball well and made the most of our advantage on the wings. Now it’s time to rest and prepare for what’s to come. As an Ecuadorian, I always want to represent my country well, and there’s a lot of support here.”
PSG’s idea is clear: they’re not going to stop after winning the Champions League. It was superb, particularly important, but not really the culmination. It’s a huge milestone, and one that should be followed by even more titles.
So this Club World Cup, to complete a season with all the titles we’ve won. Even if we know that the tension isn’t the same as in the Champions League, or at the “classic” Club World Cup.
Nevertheless, the Parisians are taking this competition seriously, and we expect a determined team to face Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals on Saturday (6pm). They’ll need to be, because the opposition will be very different. But we’re confident in this group, which is capable of displaying real collective strength. Including Pacho, who is always focused and ready to fight.
