This Saturday, in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Club World Cup, Paris Saint-Germain faced Bayern Munich at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Red and Blues struggled in the match, but won 2-0 despite two red cards. Here are our ratings on the Parisians.
Goalkeeper –
Gianluigi Donnarumma (7) – A great first half. Unfortunately, he was in contact with Musiala’s serious injury. But he kept up the good work in the second half.
Defenders –
Achraf Hakimi (8) – Very good offensively, he had more trouble defending against Coman in the first half. Untiring, he continued at a great pace in the second half. His contribution to the second goal was exceptional.
Marquinhos (6) – A few small errors, but nothing too serious. Did the job in the first half. An okay match overall.
Willian Pacho (5) – In form, he made an impact as always. More good stuff from him. His red card spoiled everything, as it was a rude error that could have been dangerous.
Nuno Mendes (7) – Marked at kick-off after the minute’s silence, he had some good phases and some small absences. Nevertheless, he managed his side as best he could in the first half. A fine game from him. Some great passes in particular.
Midfielders –
João Neves (7.5) – Good interventions, but less present overall in the first half. As elsewhere at times. A match in which he didn’t cheat. He was behind Désiré Doué’s goal for Paris. He finished the match at a very high level.
Vitinha (6.5) – Held his own with good ball control, but made a few errors under pressure in the first half. Still, we felt he was less sharp, but that’s understandable given the difficult period he’s been through.
Fabian Ruiz (5) – A fairly insipid first half. Not much better in the second half, he seemed to be tired. Replaced in the 80th minute by Warren Zaïre-Emery.
Forwards –
Désiré Doué (6.5) – Struggled in the first half. He had the ball, but played too far from goal in the first half. No longer has the energy of the Champions League final. His choices are a little too individual. His goal was magnificent, once again in a great match. If he doesn’t have a great game, he’s one of the men to watch at the end of the season. Replaced by Lucas Hernandez in the 80th minute.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (7) – As active as ever, he hurt Bayern in the first half. He may regret his lack of effectiveness and lucidity in the final movement. Always there to counter, put his foot down, he’s a fighter who never gives up. Replaced by Lucas Beraldo in the 84th minute.
Bradley Barcola (7) – A good first half, with good controls and desire. Fought hard for the team. Replaced by Ousmane Dembélé in the 70th minute.
Coach –
Luis Enrique (7) – What can I say about his season? Even in very complicated matches, his team fought and transcended. Some of the players are raising their game and responding. He’s behind it all.
