Arnau Tenas, the 24-year-old Spanish goalkeeper who signed with Paris Saint-Germain until 2026 in the summer of 2023 after the end of his contract at FC Barcelona, has barely had any playing time at the moment. The Spanish press is now reporting that he is heading to Villarreal, a major La Liga club that has qualified for the Champions League.
“Arnau Tenas is Villarreal’s main target for the goalkeeper position! The Spanish club is already negotiating with PSG. Tenas wants to leave in order to continue his development. Marca / El Periodico Mediterraneo.”
This is a completely credible announcement, since Tenas has talent and a reputation, notably thanks to his victory at the 2024 Olympic Games with Spain. It’s a possible recruitment at a lower cost, given his situation at PSG. This limits the risk taken, while the goalkeeper market is very closed. As for the goalkeeper, we don’t see why he would refuse such an opportunity.
However, we remain cautious. Nothing is certain yet, since there is nothing concrete. Several clubs have already mentioned Tenas, without confirmation. We will therefore wait to see for ourselves.
