Carlos Soler, a 28-year-old midfielder who arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022 from Valencia with a contract until 2027, failed to impress on the pitch and was loaned to West Ham for the 2024-2025 season. He returned to Paris, with a solution to find for his future. It’s done, with a loan with an option to buy from Real Sociedad. It was made official today.
This is good news, even if there was hope of a permanent transfer, which would have been more encouraging. This would have completely ended the matter, with no suspense for next summer and no possible further lengthy discussions. But it’s better to reach this agreement than nothing. So we can highlight the positives.
Soler isn’t stuck in Paris. This is better for his morale, his market value, his career, as well as the atmosphere at PSG and the finances. We hope he can flourish at Real Sociedad, whether to continue there or to receive other convincing offers for him and Paris next summer.
