Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the 24-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker, played just 29 minutes in Sunday’s Ligue 1 match against Lens despite starting the game. This was due to a nasty knock to his calf. At least, according to Foot Mercato, the tests performed have revealed nothing more, and he should be ready to face Atalanta this Wednesday (matchday 1 of the Champions League).
“PSG could finally count on Kvaratskhelia: the first tests reveal a minor injury, and he could be fit in time. It remains to be seen whether Luis Enrique will take the risk.”
We can only hope that this excellent news will be confirmed. At least, Kvaratskhelia shouldn’t be out for long. That was the most likely outcome when he went off, but we’re always wary of a nasty surprise. Now, we hope the Georgian will be in good shape for the Champions League. That’s not a given, given the limited rest available.
