Ilya Zabarnyi, the 23-year-old Paris Saint-Germain defender, stopped in the mixed zone after the 1-0 victory against Nice this Saturday at the Parc des Princes, in the 11th round of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. He was asked to reflect on the win and his adaptation since arriving this summer from Bournemouth.
Zabarnyi: “I feel good, I love this club.”
“Nice is a good team. It was difficult, but in the end, we managed to score. We played until the end. That’s football, we tried, we did our best. The second half was better, more intense, more attacking.”
How is the adaptation going?
I feel good, I love this club, the fans, the team, the staff. Everyone is trying to help me. “My mission is to do my best for the team,” a statement relayed by Foot Mercato.
PSG had to fight until the very end and managed to raise their intensity to break down Nice. They will need to attack matches more effectively and be more clinical. There are opportunities to win more comfortably, but their impressive dominance shouldn’t be underestimated (28 shots to 5, 76.5% possession, and 11 corners to 1).
The Parisians displayed a strong collective strength, and Zabarnyi appeared more comfortable than in his last two matches. We appreciate seeing his determination and the fact that he already seems at ease. Now he needs to work to further refine his game and better integrate into coach Luis Enrique’s style.
