To close out Matchday 12 of Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain traveled to face Olympique Lyonnais and secured a 3-2 victory. Following the match, Luis Enrique, the capital club’s coach, spoke to PSG TV about his players’ performance.
Enrique: “The international break is coming up, it’s time to make the most of it.”
“Of course, there’s a lot of satisfaction. Even though it was very difficult, we played a very good match. We led twice, but they managed to score two goals, so it was complicated. But in the end, as usual, with our mentality, resilience, and the players’ character, it’s very positive to continue as league leaders. The international break is coming up, it’s time to make the most of it.”
A match that could have gone either way, but one that PSG managed to turn around. A fairly even match was to be expected, given that PSG were traveling with several key players unavailable. They needed to dig deep to secure the victory, and that’s exactly what they did.
After the wins against Lens and Marseille, a victory was essential to reclaim first place in the standings. This win is therefore a huge boost before the international break, which will hopefully allow several PSG players to rest.
