On Wednesday at the Ahmad-ben-Ali Al Rayyan Stadium in Doha (Qatar), Paris Saint-Germain won on penalties (1-1, then 3-1 on penalties) against Flamengo in the final of the 2025 Intercontinental Cup. Here are the ratings given by Le Parisien and L’Équipe to the capital’s players (find ours here).

It was a rather dull match, let’s be honest. PSG were below their usual standard, while Flamengo played a physical game, committing what everyone calls “intelligent fouls.” Perhaps we should reconsider our assessment of these “tactical” fouls that disrupt the flow of the game and are, as we saw on Wednesday, sometimes extremely violent.
Paris struggled to create any chances, and Flamengo tried their luck, but to no avail. Safonov was eager to play, and it’s safe to say he’s in top form. He’s given Luis Enrique something to think about regarding his hierarchy. Zaire-Emery was once again impressive.
