As is customary after each matchday, L’Équipe has compiled its Team of the Week for the first round of Ligue 1 matches in the 2025-2026 season, which took place this past weekend. Paris Saint-Germain, Lens, Strasbourg, and Brest are omitted after their matches were postponed to Wednesday, May 13th, due to PSG and Strasbourg’s European campaigns.
With four fewer teams, the Team of the Week is somewhat unusual. Even so, the players selected deserve it after their impressive performances this weekend. This is particularly true for Lille and Paris FC after their notable victories: 4-0 against Toulouse and 4-1 against AS Monaco. However, some matches are inevitably missing, even if waiting until May 13th is understandable. In any case, there are some top-level players in Ligue 1 who deserve to be highlighted.
