This Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain hosts Olympique Lyonnais at the Parc des Princes to close out Matchday 30 of Ligue 1. It’s an important match that Lyon will have to play without their fans. Indeed, for the PSG-OL match this Sunday, the Paris Police Prefect and the Prefect of the Hauts-de-Seine department have issued an order prohibiting Lyon supporters from attending the Parc des Princes.

A decision as radical as it is sad for football and for Lyon fans. In the midst of the Champions League race, OL desperately needs its 12th man, whether at home or away. Unfortunately, these decisions have become recurrent in recent years, and the authorities are opting for the easiest solution to prevent any disturbances: banning all away travel.
Fans also need to work on building trust, especially given the ongoing incidents between supporters of the two teams in recent years. Efforts are needed from all sides, as football should be enjoyed together without fear of violence. We urgently need intelligence and dialogue from everyone.
