This Saturday, as part of Matchday 32 of Ligue 1 2025-2026, Paris Saint-Germain faced Lorient at the Parc des Princes. Montassar Talbi, the 27-year-old Lorient defender, spoke to beIN SPORTS after the 2-2 draw.
Talbi: “We can be satisfied with today’s match.”
Another good performance here at the Parc des Princes?
Yes, definitely. I think we played a good match, and we faced a tough opponent. We’re playing against the best team in the world right now, and even if they rotate their squad a bit, they’re still top-class, high-quality players. We knew it was going to be difficult, and I think we showed a lot of solidarity and character. We managed to come back twice; it was a cohesive match.
We had some great spells of play, and even though we knew we’d secured our place in the league a while ago, we showed a lot of focus. It’s a collective effort from the entire staff, the whole club, and all the players, and I think we can be satisfied with today’s match.
Talbi: “We have a close-knit group of friends who enjoy playing together every weekend.”
Do you realize what you’re achieving this season?
Yes, we do, because it was quite difficult at the beginning. A lot of people thought we were going to struggle to stay up. We believed in ourselves, we worked really hard, and we were able to reap the rewards of that work.
Gradually, we showed that we could play good football and get results, both at home and away, and we’re having a good season. We have a close-knit group of friends who enjoy playing together every weekend. Even when there are players out, the team still functions.
