Yan Diomandé, the 19-year-old RB Leipzig and Ivory Coast forward (under contract until 2030), has been at the centre of a race between Europe’s top clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain. This Sunday, L’Équipe confirmed the player’s decision to join PSG, while Monaco’s 24-year-old attacking midfielder/winger Maghnes Akliouche is also closing in on a move to the capital.
“Paris ready to step up their pursuit”
According to L’Équipe, mirroring earlier reports from The Athletic, the 19-year-old Ivorian winger—who is currently shining at the World Cup—has informed the capital club of his desire to sign this summer.
Despite heavy pressure from Liverpool, who had already opened talks with Leipzig, the Ivorian has chosen to prioritize PSG for his future. With the winger’s mind made up, Paris can now step up their pursuit, just as they are doing with Maghnes Akliouche, in an attempt to finalize both deals as quickly as possible. The signings of Diomandé and Akliouche would serve to offset the imminent departures of Gonçalo Ramos and Lee Kang-in.
Following a long period of calm, PSG’s transfer window is suddenly kicking into gear. With Ramos and Lee on the verge of leaving, high-calibre replacements are seemingly being prepared. Diomandé and Akliouche would provide excellent offensive reinforcements, bringing raw talent, hunger for success, and tactical versatility.
However, a word of caution: nothing is officially confirmed yet. The transfer market moves incredibly fast and is always full of surprises, as seen in recent days. We will have to wait for official announcements before celebrating.
