Gabriel Moscardo, a 20-year-old defender/midfielder who joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024 from Corinthians (following an initial loan spell that began the previous winter), has been loaned out to Espanyol Barcelona for the 2024-2025 season. It was made official today, without an option to buy.
While we would love to see Moscardo play for PSG one day, this departure is easy to understand. Competition for places in Paris is fierce, and playing time is hard to come by. Although the Brazilian has developed some versatility this season—having also played in defense—he may still lack the level required to meet PSG’s immense demands.
This stint with the team currently sitting 11th in La Liga should help him continue to grow and establish himself. We can only hope this loan proves successful for Moscardo—which would also be good news for PSG, whether the goal is to integrate him into the squad with a year left on his contract or to sell him.
