Paris Saint-Germain (13th) head coach Luis Enrique held a press conference this Saturday ahead of tomorrow’s match against Brest (7th) at the Stade Francis Le-Blé (kick-off at 8:45 PM, CET) as part of Matchday 4 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season. Alongside the press conference, the Spaniard also spoke to PSG TV.
Luis Enrique: “We have to enjoy every match.”
Is the connection with the fans seen at the Parc on Wednesday against Slovan Bratislava valuable?
Of course. I remember during the match, in the 80th minute, everyone stood up and sang—it was a celebration. The connection is always there. Also, this competition is sort of our competition. It’s a chance to enjoy ourselves. It’s important for the Parc and our fans to enjoy the moment. You never know what might happen. As a club, we have to enjoy every match.
Luis Enrique: “Even though we played well and deserve more points, we can still improve.”
How is the integration of the new signings coming along?
Every player is different. You have to stay calm and give them the time they individually need to adapt. But in the last match—our Champions League opener—we showed improvements as a team in aspects of the game that we might have somewhat neglected in the league. We demonstrated that, we discussed it, and if we play like that, it will be very difficult for the opposition. Even though we played well and deserve more points, we can still improve.
Luis Enrique: “It’s unusual for us to be this far off first place; I hope it will serve as motivation for the team.”
How do you see tomorrow’s match playing out?
It will be a bit like what we’ve experienced in recent years. It’s a different coach, but the same backroom staff. They are a tough team to face, especially on their home turf. Their attacking style is different from what we’re used to. They are efficient, they put in a lot of crosses, and winning second balls is crucial. It’s unusual for us to be this far off first place; I hope it will serve as motivation for the team.
