Christopher Nkunku, Chelsea’s 26-year-old attacking midfielder and striker (contract runs until 2029), has been mentioned as a possible target for his parent club Paris Saint-Germain this winter. PSG Inside Actus reports this Sunday that discussions for a loan deal with an option to buy have already begun for the Blues player.
“The French striker, currently under contract with Chelsea, would not be opposed to a move to the French capital, but an agreement has yet to be reached between the two clubs. According to several sources, PSG and Chelsea are currently discussing a loan deal with an option to buy.
This formula would enable PSG to strengthen its attack without immediately committing a large sum, while offering Nkunku the opportunity to regain playing time and confidence in a familiar environment.”
As the dossier continues, perhaps PSG are indeed making progress in a position where a reinforcement would seem to be a good idea. Especially with Randal Kolo Muani disappointing and being pushed towards the exit.
However, we remain cautious as there is nothing concrete yet. Paris may have other leads, like Nkunku and Chelsea. Let’s wait for confirmation to be certain. But it’s clearly not a rumour to be dismissed, especially given the French international’s role as understudy.
