On Wednesday, during Matchday 6 of the 2025-2026 Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain faced Athletic Bilbao at the San Mamés Stadium. After a match where the Parisians lacked energy, they drew 0-0. Here are our player ratings for PSG.
Goalkeeper –
Matvey Safonov (6) – Impeccable in the first half. He had a good game despite Bilbao’s limited number of shots on target.
Defenders –
Warren Zaïre-Emery (5) – A solid first half, but too timid in some areas, particularly in attack. He made a nice pass at the end of the first half that should have led to a goal from Mayulu. We still wish he had tried more. He certainly has the qualities to make a significant difference.
Marquinhos (6) – A solid first half. Replaced at halftime by Ilyia Zabarnyi after taking a knock. (6) The Ukrainian got into the game well.
Willian Pacho (5) – He wasn’t troubled too much in the first half, but his distribution was really poor. When he’s not contributing defensively, his weaknesses are more apparent (with the ball). He was still very solid overall.
Nuno Mendes (4) – He seems to be playing with the handbrake on. Hernandez’s suspension surely rushed his return, and he hasn’t quite found his rhythm yet due to his recent injury. His second half was hardly better than the first; he’s still recovering.
Midfielders –
Joao Neves (5) – An average first half. Always very active, he constantly battles for his team. Less prominent than usual, he still did some good things throughout the match.
Vitinha (6) – We didn’t see the usual ball-winner. He was very wasteful. He picked up where he left off in the second half. He distributed the ball more effectively and accelerated the game.
Fabian Ruiz (6) – Full of good intentions, he clearly had a poor first half. A much better second half; he really raised his game.
Forwards –
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (5) – He tried, but achieved almost nothing in the first half. His second half was noticeably better.
Senny Mayulu (3) – A very poor first half. Despite this, he had the best scoring opportunity. Replaced by Désiré Doué in the 62nd minute.
Bradley Barcola (4) – He was noticeable as soon as he moved to the left wing; before that, it was as if he wasn’t there. A first half that was completely below par. A better second half, but his lack of goals in recent weeks prevents him from making the right decisions. Substituted in the 78th minute by Gonçalo Ramos.
Coach –
Luis Enrique (5) – His PSG took a while to get going. He struggled to get his instructions across in this match. His starting eleven was fairly predictable. He failed to inject enough energy into his team.
