Paris Saint-Germain travelled to face Auxerre on Friday to open the 14th day of Ligue 1 (0-0 video summary here). On the sidelines of the match, 23-year-old Parisian defender William Pacho spoke to PSG TV.
Pacho “I’m sure the next game will go well.”
“Unfortunately we didn’t get the result we wanted tonight. We missed a goal, but they’re a strong team at home. It cost us dearly, but we have to keep working, stay focused, stick together. And I’m sure the next game will go well.”
Pacho “I know we’ll get results again.”
“We insisted, a lot, but we didn’t win. We tried on the wings, inside, but as I said, that’s soccer. We have to keep working because that’s the only way to get there. We have to keep pushing, and I know we’ll get results again.”
It’s never easy to win away from home, especially before a crucial Champions League match. But it’s even less easy when you’re PSG in an Infernal cycle.
Once again, 25 shots, 11 of which were on target, prevented this team from winning against a totally dominated Auxerre side. There’s not much to reproach PSG for, who dominate and should normally win 3 or 4-0.
The only thing to look forward to is the end of this cycle, which is leading the capital club to lose points foolishly. But with Tuesday’s match against RB Salzburg in the Champions League, PSG will have to unblock this evil.
The Parisians cannot afford to drop any more points in this competition, and must win if they are not to see their chances of further qualification dashed.
