This Friday, December 6, 2024, AJ Auxerre welcomed Paris Saint-Germain to the Stade de l’Abbé Deschamps for the 14th day of the McDonald’s Ligue 1. Luis Enrique’s men kept a firm grip on the game, but once again proved ineffective in front of goal, and were hampered by a goalkeeper who produced his trademark performance (0-0. AJA striker Lassine Sinayoko spoke to DAZN about the draw:
Sinayoko: “We defended enormously and lost a lot of feathers in defence”.
Was it the perfect match?
We knew we weren’t going to touch the ball, so we had to block low and counter when we had to. I think we could have countered better. Next time, in the second leg.

What was missing tonight?
It wasn’t easy, they had to prepare properly for the Champions League. They wanted to win here. We defended a lot and left a lot of feathers in our mouths. On the counter-attacks, we had fewer legs and less gas.
You took a bit of a beating at the start of the second half, but came back well afterwards? How do you explain that?
Maybe we respected them too much, but that’s PSG. That’s what the coach told us and maybe we realized that there was room for improvement as the minutes went by. Unfortunately it didn’t pay off, but that’s how it goes.
