On Wednesday at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, Paris Saint-Germain claimed a 1-2 victory over FC Barcelona in the second round of the 2025-2026 Champions League group stage. As we now do after each match, we asked our readers to vote for the best PSG player of the game. Nuno Mendes (23-year-old left-back) came out on top.
A deserved win for Nuno Mendes, who shone in this encounter despite a few natural difficulties against Lamine Yamal. Most notably, he managed to stop the youngster several times and sparked PSG’s comeback. He even provided the assist for Senny Mayulu’s equalizer. The 19-year-old attacking midfielder was also in contention for a spot on the podium.
However, Achraf Hakimi (26-year-old right-back) also delivered an excellent performance, providing the decisive pass for Gonçalo Ramos (24-year-old striker) to score the winner. It also made sense to highlight Ilya Zabarnyi (23-year-old defender) for his crucial interventions, though Willian Pacho (23-year-old defender) could also have earned recognition.
Thank you again for your votes. As a reminder, the podium from each match is used later to determine the Player of the Month award. Vitinha (25-year-old midfielder) impressed too, but more notably after the 30th minute.
