Désiré Doué, 19-year-old midfielder/attacker for Paris Saint-Germain and the French national team, spoke to FFF TV as he joined the Bleus squad. He logically looked back on Saturday’s 5-0 Champions League victory over Inter Milan. That, along with all the emotions that followed, and now the transition to France/Spain on Thursday.
Doué “I think this will go down in history.
What emotion?
It’s just magnificent. We’ve won Paris Saint-Germain’s first Champions League. We’re very, very happy. We were able to celebrate with everyone, with the fans, with our families too. It was great, these are magical moments. I think it will go down in history.
Doué “All the emotions were released.”
The happiest day of your life?
It’s definitely one of the best days of my life. At the end of the match, I was a bit stressed when I was on the bench. I was waiting for the whistle to blow, because I wanted it to be over and for us to go home with the trophy. When the whistle blew, it was a real release. All the emotions were released. We celebrated as a team, it was great.
Doué “We’re convinced that we can also go and get this trophy.”
Is it hard to get back into the swing of things with the French national team?
We’re used to alternating between club and country. Now we know there’s a big game coming up on Thursday (against Spain). We’ll have to be ready. We’re convinced that we can also win this trophy (the Nations League). We’re going to prepare well for the game on Thursday.
