Lucas Hernandez, 28-year-old defender for Paris Saint-Germain and the French national team, was injured at the end of last season in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Borussia Dortmund. Unfortunately, he ruptured the anterior ligament in his left knee, and will be out for months. However, according to Le Parisien, his absence could be a little shorter than feared .
“The former Bayern Munich player is working well and seems to be ahead of schedule in his convalescence. So much so that he could return to training in a few weeks’ time. Internally, we’re even optimistic that he’ll play a few minutes before the end of the calendar year.”
It’s hard to be too happy after such an injury, and as long as a comeback isn’t certain, but we’re not going to spoil the good news either. Lucas Hernandez is getting closer to a return, and we’re sure he’s doing all he can.
It remains to be seen exactly how long it will take, as the press is not particularly precise in this area in general. We mustn’t forget that it all depends on the individual and how he feels when he returns.
We hope to see Lucas Hernandez back in 2024, as he would be a great addition to the squad. But there’s nothing certain at the moment. Especially when it comes to getting back to his best.
