On Tuesday evening, Le Mans FC hosted Paris Saint-Germain in the 8th round of the Coupe de France. The match was generally lacklustre, as the opposition was so weak that the capital club’s coach was able to rotate his squad. Despite this, PSG won 0-2 (video highlights Le Mans/PSG). Patrick Videira, manager of the national club, spoke to beIN SPORTS about the match:
Videira: “We knew it was going to be tough”.
What was your analysis of the match?
You always have regrets when you’re a competitor. I told you before the match that we wanted to win. We knew it was going to be difficult and then it came down to details, even micro-details. In some situations, you’re capable of coming back into the game and then you get a counter-attack. Afterwards, we had the will to play and we made a bad technical gesture, and against this kind of opponent I can’t forgive that.
Aside from the result, did you put in a good performance?
Yes, we put on a good show, that was the aim. This match will enable me to grow and in the championship to do a lot more.
