Ibrahima Konaté, the 25-year-old central defender for the French national team and Liverpool (under contract until 2026), is in talks to extend his contract. But he has also been mentioned as a target for Paris Saint-Germain this summer. He was even announced as a priority. But Foot Mercato has a very different announcement.

A relatively credible announcement…but no more reliable than the idea of a possible transfer. Above all, we’re still in the dark. Clearly, we mustn’t forget that certainties about the mercato only come with concreteness.
There’s also always the mercato “game”, with agents or clubs, for example, slipping in certain ideas in an attempt to apply pressure. We can’t rule out the possibility of Konaté’s entourage trying to get Liverpool to offer him a better contract. Or that the media are taking advantage of his interview with Téléfoot, due to take place tomorrow, to talk about his future, including PSG.
