Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the 23-year-old SSC Napoli striker under contract until 2027, was the target of a concrete offer from Paris Saint-Germain during the 2024 summer mercato, but his club did not open the door despite pressure from his entourage. Rumors of a Parisian attempt this winter are back. The Athletic reports on the situation this Thursday evening, with PSG ahead of the game but not alone.
“Paris Saint-Germain appear to be the main suitors, while Kvaratskhelia is also on the list of potential targets of teams like Chelsea.
Napoli are in no hurry to lose a player who has scored 30 goals and provided 29 assists in 107 appearances for the club, and would only consider a sale at a high price.
Liverpool are also keeping an eye on the situation, although they are already well-stocked in the attacking department.
Liverpool are not specifically looking for a player of Kvaratskhelia’s profile, but he is someone they admire, follow closely and will be ready to fight for if the opportunity arises on the market.”
Nothing impossible, but we remain very cautious as this is still not an official point. We’d like to hear from the player’s entourage or from Napoli. Or both, of course. But it would be strange for the media to talk so much about PSG for nothing. It remains to be seen whether a real breakthrough will be possible.
Let’s hope for something concrete soon, it’s always nice when the mercato is clear. Even if it’s already interesting to have a possible recruit who would be such a big coup for PSG. Beware, though, it can also fizzle out quickly.
