Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the 23-year-old SSC Napoli striker under contract until 2027, was the target of a concrete offer from Paris Saint-Germain during the 2024 summer mercato, but his club didn’t open the door despite pressure from his entourage. There is a new Parisian attempt this winter. Foot Mercato reports this Friday evening that two offers have been made.
“Aurelio de Laurentiis has indeed set a price below what he demanded during the last summer mercato. Between 80 and 90 M€, and that could do the trick. The problem is that PSG don’t want to spend more than €45m this winter, even if it means paying the same amount next summer. This does not please the Neapolitan president, who wants to accelerate other projects and benefit from maximum liquidity.
PSG have also proposed two other packages to convince Napoli: €45m + Randal Kolo Muani, or €60m + Milan Skriniar. Both formulas are fraught with pitfalls. For the first, it’s simple: the destination is not suitable for the French striker. For the second, there’s the problem of salary, with a loss that should be compensated for.”
It’s been the hot topic since Thursday, and we can only hope that the media aren’t getting so carried away and generally heading in the same direction for nothing. PSG never seem to have given up on this major target of the summer mercato, and are back on the attack with Napoli possibly a little more open to negotiation.
Hopefully, a transfer will be possible this time. But it’s far from a done deal, and we need to remain very cautious. For the moment, nothing has been officially confirmed. Everything remains possible. Let’s hope for something concrete soon.
Here, there’s bound to be some mistrust of an offer announced at 60 million euros, when it’s been said that PSG don’t want to pay more than 45.
