Ibrahima Konaté, the 25-year-old central defender for the French national team and Liverpool (under contract until 2026), is in talks to extend his contract. But he has also been mentioned as a target for Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Speaking to Téléfoot, he provided an update.
Konaté “it’s my agents, my advisors who take care of that.”
“Have I received an offer to extend my contract?
Yes.
There are also rumors of interest from PSG and Real Madrid? It’s clear that it’s very flattering to hear big clubs like that showing an interest, but right now I’m focusing on this season, I want to win everything, take as many titles as possible, and then anything that happens in terms of my contractual situation, that’s for my agents and advisors to deal with.
Unsurprisingly, Konaté avoids being too specific. However, there is talk of an offer of an extension, and we can’t rule out the PSG rumour being for pressure. We’ll have to wait and see, as there’s nothing concrete at the moment.
