Xavi Simons, the 21-year-old striker/midfielder under contract at Paris Saint-Germain until 2027, has been loaned back to RB Leipzig for the 2024-2025 season after a long wait. There’s no option to buy, so the future remains wide open. But according to all the media, he has finally been sold.

#Mercato

This comes as a surprise, as it hadn’t been mentioned recently. But we could see it coming in the end, as Simons didn’t stay on when he returned from PSV Eindhoven, nor the following summer when there seemed to be room. The Dutchman had another preference, so be it.
All the same, PSG have a fine squad of players, and they’ve managed to sell a player who had come to the end of his FC Barcelona contract. It’s a good deal, even if we’d have liked to see Simons in the team.
It will also enable us to finalize the loan of Milan Skriniar (29-year-old defender) to Fenerbahçe, since this was blocked by the limit reached on loans abroad.
