Ilya Zabarnyi, the 22-year-old central defender from Bournemouth (contract runs until 2028) and Ukraine, has been announced as one of Paris Saint-Germain’s defensive priorities for the mercato. The Athletic, via its journalist David Ornstein, reports this Tuesday that the transfer is likely, while the player is tempted and the good relations between the managers, Luis Campos (PSG) and Thiago Pinto (Bournemouth), will facilitate negotiations.
Nothing impossible, at least the transfer seems quite feasible. At the very least, discussions could take place with an agreement at the end. It could be a very tempting step for Zabarnyi in his career, and his profile fits well with the Parisian project.
However, there is no certainty of a transfer as there is no official confirmation whatsoever. Above all, the price (70 million euros) is currently considered too high by the Parisian club, who would βonlyβ offer around 50 million. Nothing says that an agreement will be possible.
We’ll have to wait and see.
