Having arrived in the 2023 summer mercato from Inter Milan, 30-year-old defender Milan Skriniar has not made the move to Paris Saint-Germain. His contract expires in June 2028, and he has been loaned out to Fenerbahçe for the remainder of the 2024-2025 season. He has bounced back well and there has been talk of a permanent move to the Turkish club this summer. On Monday evening, Ajansspor announced that the deal was almost complete!
“Milan Skriniar has agreed to lower his salary to sign for Fenerbahçe, and the Turkish club has agreed to pay the amount demanded by PSG (€15-20M)!
Salim Manav – Ajansspor”
A credible announcement, in line with the latest rumours and statements. We remain cautious, however, as there’s nothing official yet, and we know that the mercato can be very surprising. But now is the time to be confident.
Be careful, however, with the amount announced, as we’ve already seen major changes from rumor to official announcement. Here, however, the media agree on a figure of around 15 million euros. We’ll be waiting for official confirmation before we can be sure.
A sale of Skriniar for such a sum, at a time when he seemed lost at PSG, would be a very nice coup after his 6-month loan which enabled him to relaunch his career at Fenerbahçe. For a player recruited at the end of his contract, it’s a particularly good way of making up for lost time.
