This Saturday at 7 p.m. (CET), Paris Saint-Germain (2nd) will face Metz (18th) at the Stade Saint-Symphorien for Matchday 16 of the 2025–2026 Ligue 1 season. In a press conference, Metz striker Habib Diallo (30) showed his ambition and outlined what will be required to hope for all three points.
Diallo: “It will take much more.”
“We know Paris are a big team, but we’re preparing for it like any other match. PSG are ahead of us in the standings and stronger than us, but we will play the same way we usually do. We will give everything to take points. To achieve something, it takes much more: more effort, sacrifices, concentration and commitment.”
Of course, Diallo cannot claim the match will be easy against PSG. Even if some rotation is expected, Paris will still field a competitive side, with players determined to reclaim first place in the league and return to winning ways after the Champions League draw.
But Metz are eager to pull off a big result to move closer to safety. That doesn’t change the difficulty of the task, but the aim remains victory — accepting defeat would be disastrous. As Diallo points out, the ambition is there, and it must be matched by a strong collective performance. What remains is to put in a huge amount of effort, while being prepared to suffer at times..
