This Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain played their first final, against Reims in the French Cup (3-0 video highlights PSG/Reims), before facing Inter Milan in the Champions League final on Saturday May 31. Speaking to PSG TV, Bradley Barcola, the 22-year-old Parisian striker who scored a brace on Saturday, reflected on the success.
Barcola “We knew it was important to make it big”
“I felt really good. We prepared well for this final, and we could only have played a big game. We knew it was important to play a big game before the next final, and we did it in the best possible way today.
My relationship with the fans? Frankly, it’s incredible. I thank them every time after the matches for what they do for us. They cheer us on all the time, it’s exceptional. The Coupe de France is theirs. We’re really lucky to have them!”
Once again, the Parisian fans rang out their chants for over 90 minutes across the Stade de France. This has been the case on every trip this season, whether in the league or the Champions League. What this Parisian team has to offer today can only encourage support.
After some difficult years, it’s great to see a team and players giving 200% and respecting the jersey. History continues to be made with this domestic double, and can be made even more so next Saturday in the Champions League. PSG’s destiny is in its own hands, but what this team has achieved over the last two seasons is already more than satisfactory.
