Ilya Zabarnyi, the 22-year-old central defender from Bournemouth (contract until 2028) and Ukraine, is reportedly on the verge of signing for Paris Saint-Germain. L’Equipe revealed the details of this transfer this Saturday.
“After a final meeting, Bournemouth accepted the offer valued at €63 million, excluding bonuses. Paris will pay a fixed transfer fee of €60 million, approximately €3 million in solidarity fees and €3 million in bonuses, distributed as follows: €1.5 million if PSG wins Ligue 1 and €1.5 million if it wins the Champions League, once during the Ukrainian’s five-year contract. In Paris, Zabarni will receive €4.5 million net during his first season.”
Please note, the figures are unofficial, and we’ve already seen some inaccuracies. But all media outlets agree on a sum of around €66 million including bonuses; this is probably no coincidence. Let’s wait for certainty, though; the transfer isn’t official yet.
However, we can note a relatively low salary, compared to the Parisian top players who earn more than €10 million per season. The idea is clear: Zabarnyi will have to establish himself and earn recognition as a key player in the squad. And, let’s not forget, we know that the players are far from financial poverty.
