Paris Saint-Germain defeated Vendée Fontenay 4-0 this Saturday at the Stade de la Beaujoire in the Round of 32 of the 2025-2026 Coupe de France. After the match, the Parisian club, as is customary with non-professional opponents, donated its share of the gate receipts. This was reported by journalist Bruno Salomon (Ici Paris).
“A nice gesture (and a tradition for the club in the Coupe de France), PSG donated its share of the match receipts to Fontenay-le-Comte (National 3)”
This initiative from PSG is commendable, even if the Parisian club obviously has the resources to more easily donate gate receipts, while other Ligue 1 clubs can hardly afford to do so. There is no obligation, however. It reflects well on the Parisian management and is a huge boost to the finances of the National 3 club.
