Stade Rennais FC welcomed Paris Saint-Germain to Roazhon Park for the 25th day of Ligue 1 Mc Donalds this Saturday at 5pm. Brice Samba, the Breton club’s goalkeeper, stopped off in the mixed zone to talk about his fine performance despite the Rennes side’s 1-4 defeat (video highlights Rennes/PSG). Asked about his exchanges with Dembélé and the Parisians’ chances of qualifying for the Champions League, he spoke at length to beIN SPORTS :
You played a good match, even if it was too hard over the 90 minutes?
Yes, you’ve summed it up, we weren’t far off and this team, when you play against them, you think you’re not far off, but in the end the score is what it is. We had a good 20 minutes when we reduced the score, but we needed a little something to get back into it, but these teams can knock you down in cold blood. We’re going to use our mistakes to progress.
Samba: “They can topple this Liverpool team”.
Tell us what you said about Dembélé.
Ousmane is someone I like a lot. We have the same way of seeing things. He’s a top guy, and I wish him nothing but the best. I’m very happy for him. I’m glad he can blossom like this.
Do you think Paris Saint-Germain can qualify for the Champions League?
Anything’s possible if you look at Wednesday’s game. They dominated and the way they crushed that Liverpool team. I wish them nothing but the best. If they can go through and add points to France’s tally, we won’t let them down. They’ve got the ability and they can topple this Liverpool team.
