Stade Rennais FC hosted Paris Saint-Germain this Saturday at 5:00 pm, as part of the 25th day of Ligue 1. It was a game of two halves for the Parisians, who quickly opened the scoring but then made a number of crude errors, leaving Rennes to hope for a few moments before the substitutes killed the game off with Ousmane Dembélé (1-4, video highlights Rennes/PSG). Lilian Brassier, Rennes central defender and goalscorer, spoke to beIN SPORTS about the match:
Brassier: “We worked hard and caused them problems”.
Was Paris Saint-Germain too tough today, or what analysis can you make?
I think we can be proud of ourselves, we showed some great things today. We have to be realistic, though, because when they make changes, it makes things even more difficult. That’s what it came down to, and we couldn’t resist the second wave.
But you scored at 2-0, so we felt we had a chance?
Yes, we worked hard and caused them problems. I’m proud of the team today. We work hard in training every day and we try to show what we’re working on all the time, and that’s it.
