Here’s our saga. The 5 good reasons to follow a match (with some adaptations sometimes). We’ll revisit the interesting things before each match with a mix of seriousness and humor. Please note, this isn’t an exhaustive overview. We continue here with the match between Paris Saint-Germain (1st) this Friday against Strasbourg (3rd) at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 8 of Ligue 1 2025-2026 (kick-off 8:45 p.m., CET).
5 – It’s back!
After the international break, club competitions return, and so we find PSG. A moment to savor, of course. The break isn’t actually very long, but it always seems endless, as we’re so eager to see what happens next. Here we go tonight.
4- Is Ndjantou ready to continue?
Quentin Ndjantou, 18-year-old midfielder/forward, has been something of a “new revelation” for PSG in recent weeks, having been able to take advantage of absences to make his debut and create some very interesting moments. However, he still needs to confirm his form. The squad is slowly regaining its strength, but he could still get some playing time. A great opportunity in a high-level match, with points to score before minutes may become even harder to come by.
3 – Désiré Doué is back.
The 20-year-old midfielder/forward will certainly not start after a month’s absence, but he is in the squad. So, we expect him to be able to play after having had time to prepare properly. This is an important moment. The PSG squad is getting back a special player, capable of adding the creativity that has sometimes been lacking.
2 – A tight standings.
PSG are first in Ligue 1, but they’re still a long way from becoming champions. The top of the table remains, quite understandably after seven matches, very tight. There’s some competition building up, including Strasbourg, which is third, a point behind. We can’t wait; this match is important for the future.
1 – A great match almost guaranteed.
PSG and Strasbourg are at the top of the table thanks to their attacking style, including intense pressing. We therefore expect to see some great sequences of play in a match between two daring teams. There are quality players on both sides, and despite some absences, we’re expecting a great evening of football. We might as well make the most of it.
