Randal Kolo Muani, the 26-year-old French national team striker who struggled at Paris Saint-Germain, has been loaned to Juventus until the end of the 2024-25 season without a purchase option. He has bounced back well, and the Turin club has announced its intention to keep him. However, an agreement with PSG has still not been reached, and other options are being discussed. La Gazzetta dello Sport reported this Monday that the Old Lady is finally getting closer to an agreement.
“Gazzetta: Juve is closing in on Randal Kolo Muani. Comolli would like to complete his return within 48 hours with a paid loan offer (10 million euros) and a purchase option that could become an obligation. A total deal worth 40-45 million euros for PSG.”
It’s too early to fully celebrate, but it seems we’re nearing the end of this very long process. It seemed ready to be resolved at the start of the transfer window. Except that PSG was very firm in the negotiations, with the desire to have a mandatory option (or an immediate permanent transfer). This seems to have worked, thanks, no doubt, to some competition from the Premier League.
However, it’s not yet a done deal. We’re therefore remaining cautious. The transfer window is only certain if something concrete happens, and this case has already experienced many twists and turns. Let’s hope it will be resolved soon, with a rather attractive sum for PSG given Kolo Muani’s difficulties in the capital. Even if it’s a far cry from the €95 million spent in 2023 for his arrival.
