Maghnes Akliouche, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder/winger for AS Monaco (under contract until 2028) and the French national team, has been linked to Paris Saint-Germain during the 2026 summer transfer window. However, reaching an agreement with ASM proved difficult. L’Équipe and Onze Mondial report this Thursday that a deal has finally been struck, with a €50 million transfer expected to be officially finalized very soon.
L’Équipe:
After several approaches from PSG, the Principality club responded favorably in the last few hours to a €50 million offer.
Financial and contractual terms still need to be negotiated, but the biggest hurdle appears to have been cleared; the two-time European champions are therefore expected to welcome the 24-year-old attacking midfielder—previously under contract with Monaco until 2028—in the coming days.
Onze Mondial:
After several months of negotiations, the Parisian club has reached an agreement with Monaco for the transfer of Maghnes Akliouche. The French international is set to sign a five-year contract in the capital. The winger’s performances against Paris in the Champions League and Ligue 1 convinced the sporting management and Luis Enrique to make signing the French international a priority.
Fresh from the World Cup with the French national team, Akliouche has traveled to Paris, ready to undergo his medical examination and sign his five-year contract. He has since left but will soon return to finalize the deal.
Bear in mind that nothing is certain until an official announcement comes from one of the two clubs. Before that happens, we usually see a more substantial wave of confirmations, with multiple media outlets and journalists agreeing that everything is settled. Right now, there are still a few details being negotiated; the transfer isn’t quite imminent yet. While things can move very quickly once clubs agree on the broad outlines, we have also seen deals stall over the final points.
Akliouche is expected to remain on break until around August 10—like the other French national team players at PSG—so there is no need to rush, especially since it would be surprising to see another club step in at this stage. A little more patience—and caution—is in order, given how quickly the transfer market can shift. However, we should be able to welcome the player to Paris relatively soon.
