Enrique “it’s important to have that mentality.”
“I’m very happy. It was the first game of the year at the Parc des Princes and I’m pleased. I think we played well and deserved the win. It’s important for us to have Ousmane, and right now he’s very effective in front of goal.
But I think we all need to improve as a team. Today, Ousmane Dembélé was the player who scored the goals. And maybe in three days’ time it’ll be Gonçalo, Barcola or Désiré… I don’t know. But it’s important to have that mentality.”
Although the score was only 2-1, the statistics (25 shots, 9 on target) once again showed the capital club’s outrageous domination. Unfortunately, this problem of realism is still present. Ending the match with a one-goal cushion is not normal, and the club must continue to work at this level.
Nevertheless, victory remains the most important thing at the start of the season. The Champions League returns in just over a week’s time, and it will be vital to arrive against Manchester City with 100% confidence. So, in 2025, PSG are off to a flying start, and that’s obviously what matters most.
