On Wednesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain pulled off the feat of upsetting Manchester City, who were leading 0-2 in their Champions League match. In the end, it was the Parisians who came out on top, 4-2 (video summary PSG/Manchester City). Red and Blue coach Luis Enrique spoke to Canal+ after the match about the match and the intensity of the Parisians:
Luis Enrique: “PSG is a royal team. This team has nothing to envy.
How did your team manage to turn this match around? And what difference did Dembélé’s arrival make tonight?
I really don’t know. I think the match was very intense, very difficult. In the first half, it was very hard-fought, with both teams wanting the ball. We scored the goal at the end of the first half that could have given us an advantage, but in the end VAR cancelled it out. We started the second half in the worst possible way with those two goals. This team believes in itself, and I’ve seen some very positive things in recent times, with the players fighting right to the end. The fans were exceptional, as they always are.
“PSG is a royal team
What is the symbolism of this victory over Guardiola and is it a founding act for your PSG?
PSG is a royal team. This team has nothing to envy, it plays, it attacks. We may or may not have good results, but we believe in ourselves and the level of our players was sensational today. Physically, in terms of intensity, self-sacrifice and the fans, it was a great victory.
