Randal Kolo Muani, the 26-year-old striker signed by Paris Saint-Germain in the summer mercato in September 2023 and under contract until June 2028, was one of the club’s biggest transfers. But he didn’t make the grade, and now leaves on a paying loan to Juventus Turin until this summer, with his salary fully covered. The transfer was made official today.
We appreciated that the striker never took the floor to create tension around his predicament. At least from the outside, he fought to turn things around. Even if coach Luis Enrique did take a few jabs at the team’s internal investment and the behavior of some members of staff, it’s not clear who was being targeted or why.
Perhaps at some point Kolo Muani gave up. It wouldn’t be incomprehensible, given his difficulty in expressing himself at PSG. In any case, it’s great to see him given this opportunity at a major club, which is in the European championship race and well-placed to reach at least the Champions League play-offs.
We wish him every success in turning the page on his Parisian adventure (even if we’ll have to take stock next summer, as it’s only a loan). It would be very good for the player and PSG if he could get back on track and have a good outing at the end of the season.
